Gianna House's Stories

Kahlisha Pettway

“My journey with Gianna House Community Outreach began in 2022, when I attended a community baby shower that changed my life. At a time when I was facing significant hardships—struggling to provide essentials like diapers, wipes, hygiene products, clothing, and shoes for my children—Gianna House became a beacon of hope.

Through the Bright Course lessons, I’ve not only gained valuable knowledge but also earned baby bucks that allow me to shop monthly for my family’s needs. What touches me most is the genuine care I feel from the staff. I’m not just a number here—I’m seen, heard, and supported.
Last Christmas, my family was adopted through the program, and the joy it brought us was indescribable. My children received gifts I could never have imagined providing on my own. The Zoom and in-person classes have been a blessing, especially because I can bring my children along to learn and grow with me.

I am deeply grateful for everything Gianna House has done for us. Their support has empowered me to keep moving forward, and I now face each day with renewed strength and hope.”

“I love being a part of Gianna House. These classes help me as a first time parent, learn more about what to expect in the coming years, proper discipline, understanding myself when it comes to proper parenting and prepare myself for each developmental stage. These classes give me a much needed skill and they help decrease my feelings of anxiety. Everyone at Gianna House has such an uplifting spirit, making you feel welcomed and loved.”

Sonya Kirk

“My name is Sonya Kirk. I love coming to Gianna house especially their classes, because their classes have taught me how to cope with your everyday trials. Each class teaches you something new, if not about your children, or how to cope with their behavior, or motherhood, but their classes teach you about yourself. Each and every time you attend a class there is a new learning experience. When you walk into Gianna House you are stepping into a building where there is love, and everyone’s welcomes you with a hug and a smile.

Gianna House is a sanctuary for adults and children. They have a play area for the children, and volunteers come and babysit our children while we attend class. When you walk into class you can see and feel a glow all around the room, like where in heaven!

I love coming to Gianna House because when everyone listens to your story, people don’t judge you, or make fun of you. People listen to you and offer great advice. I will recommend anyone to come to Gianna’s House for an escape, for peace, for prayer, and just to be yourself.
Thank you Gianna House!”

Tiffany Vance

“My name is Tiffany Vance. I attend Gianna House. When I first attended, it changed my life. When I got pregnant with my 6th child I was mentally drained and didn’t know how I was going to get through my pregnancy. The day I walked into Gianna House I felt so loved. I started attending classes and have learned so many valuable skills.

I have attended cooking classes and have learned how to make clothes for myself and my family. I call Gianna House “Heaven” because if it was not for their incredible caring and committed staff I don’t know where I would be today. The people that work at Gianna House make me feel welcome and accepted. Gianna House saved my life and my baby. They even told me that my baby I was pregnant with was a blessing from God. And with that blessing I named her, Mary Justice Dean.”
